My Friend magazine was launched in 2010 and now in 2017 we are expanding our circulation again to include Cambourne.
Owner/editor of the magazine, Jacqueline Barnett, has wanted to include Cambourne since taking over the magazine in May 2016. 'My family live in Cambourne, so I spend a lot of time there. I have played badminton at the Sports Centre, done aerobics classes at the Hub, walked the dog round the beautiful lakes, met friends in the Monkfield, and of course shopped at Morries!'
Cambourne is a fantastic example of how thoughtful planning and attractive design can grow a new community on 400 hectares of farm land, and make it work.
The most recent figures available are from the 2011 UK Census, which recorded a population of just over 8,000 in Cambourne. This figure will have grown in the following six years because the building in Cambourne has been continuous. My Friend magazine are going to begin delivery to Cambourne this November, with issue 53. We will increase the quantity gradually, with the intention of finally delivering 5,000 copies to Upper, Lower and Great Cambourne.
The magazine is now hand delivered door to door in:
Alconbury , Brampton, Buckden, Cambourne, Central Huntingdon, Elsworth, Godmanchester, Hartford, Hemingford Grey, Hemingford Abbots, Hilton, Hinchingbroke, Houghton, Fenstanton, Offord d’Arcy, Offord Cluny, Papworth Everard, Sawtry, The Stukeleys, Stukeley Meadows, Wyton-on-the-Hill, Ellington, Grafham, Graveley and Yelling.
