Jamie Perrin is a Kettering based young motorcycle racer who rode in the Supersport class in 2018 and scored four podium finishes and one pole position. 2019 sees Jamie move into the increasingly popular new GP2 class, riding a unique Yamaha engined 600cc bike for his GP2 debut.
The new machine is a Chassis Factory bike supported by Nova Racing Transmissions with technical support provided by Go Racing Developments.
My Friend magazine was at Silverstone on Easter weekend to see Jamie ride his first race with this new bike and we were excited to see him win a P3 place on the day. He qualified 4th in GP2 after the full weekend's racing. Jamie said, "It was a really positive weekend on the new bike at a track that I haven't performed great at in the past. We are still developing the bike and have lots of things to try for the next round, so hoping to close the gap to the leaders.
"Motorsport is fantastically expensive and small family teams like Jamie's struggle to meet the costs, for example tyres alone are up to £18,000 for one season. If you are an enthusiast and would like to sponsor the team, they would be very pleased to chat with you.
